The 2011 Season Was a Roller Coaster Ride

Written By: UtterMotorsports.comJason Utter

NOVEMBER 7TH, 2011 The 2011 race season started off with three rainouts. Jason Utter and Team 31 started the season off at West Liberty, Iowa. Utter had his 31 machine dialed in but mechanical problems ended his night early. The Utter Motorsports team had committed to race the Corn Belt Clash series. The series would travel to Greenwood, NE where Utter would pick up his first win of the season. “It was a fun race to drive; I had my car at the right place at the right time. It was an exciting win for me and all of my crew” Utter stated.

The Corn Belt Clash would return to Utter’s home town, Columbus Junction, Iowa during the Louisa County Fair. Utter was running second, and the hometown fans were on their feet, watching as Utter reeled in the leader. Utter cut it a little close coming out of four and collected the tire, folding his bumper under his car, ending his great run and his night of racing.

In August Utter would return to victory lane at Redwood Falls, MN. Utter would lead the race wire to wire on the high side of the track.

In September the Utter Motorsports team would travel to the famous Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. On the opening night Utter was leading his heat race, with a hand full of laps to go Utter got passed taking the air off of his nose, instantly throwing the 31 machine into the wall. Utter’s car was damaged and was unable to race the rest of the event.

The Corn Belt Clash series ended the year at Elko Speedway, Elko Minnesota with back to back races. Utter finished a strong third the first night.  Jason Utter along with the 31 crew would end up fourth in the Corn Belt Clash series point’s standing.

“The 2011 season had a lot of ups and downs but visiting victory lane twice will help motivate us for the 2012 season,” Utter stated.
