Race Report: May 12th - West Liberty

(May 12th, 2007- West Liberty, Iowa) -- The 31 Wegner Research power plant was humming on Saturday night in West Liberty, Iowa. Jason Utter drove his C&R Pork/ P & L Transportation Monte Carlo to a 2 nd place finish. Utter was hard charging in the heat to clinch a second place finish. The 31 car would roll off in 5 th position for the feature event. Utter making the bottom line work, finished the night in 4 th place until the scales played a role in the final decision. First, second and fifth place cars were found to be to light at the scales moving Andy Echrich from 3 rd to 1 st and Utter from 4 th to 2 nd.

“It is always too bad when someone gets DQ’d, but rules are rules. It was great to see the tech official make the call; otherwise you might as well forget having rules. This is not how I like to move up, I would rather do it on the track, but we need to all be playing by the same rules.” Jason commented.

The Utter Motorsports team plans on racing Wednesday night in Oskaloosa, Iowa at the second USRA late model series, then back to West Liberty Raceway on Saturday night.
