9/3/08 -- The Utter Motorsports team invaded the Deere Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota on Saturday night, August 30th for a WDRL series race. The WDRL Series event once again paid $5,000 to the winner. Jason Utter timed in 9th fastest in qualifying and later transferred into the main event via a 2nd place finish in his consolation race. Jason would choose to start at the rear of the field due to a problem with the rear end. Utter made a few laps and called it a night, picking up the 24th position. Brady Smith would bring home the $5000.

Night two (August 31): The Utter Motorsports team traveled south to the Land of Lincoln for a WDRL Series event at East Moline, Illinois. Jason would place 5th in his heat race and would bring home a 10th place finish in the feature event. John Kaanta would pick up the win on this very fast short track.

Night three (September 1): The Dubuque County Fairgrounds in Dubuque, Iowa then took center stage on Monday night, as Simmons Promotions hosted the RUMBLE by the RIVER $5000 to win. Jason started 5th in his heat race and wheeled the 31 C& R Pork, P & L Transportation Mastersbilt to a 2nd place finish. Utter then picked up a 6th place finish in the pole dash. Starting the 50 lap feature outside 3rd row, Utter took his car to high side for a few laps where everyone was running. Utter took a gamble and drove to the hub of the track and found something down there. The 31 would work his way back in the top 5 with 15 to go, with 3 to go Utter was in 3rd place and would challenge for the lead. At the checkered flag it was Andy Eckrich in first, UTTER in second and Chad Simpson in third. The top 3 cars made the crowd rumble at the finish.

“I would like to thank my crew and sponsors for all they do, with out there help it would be very tough to race the 31 with the best. I felt it was a great 3 day run, my car is not all beat up and we can take it back to the shop and get ready for Freeport next week-end.” Utter stated.

Next stop, the WDRL Late Model Series will travel to Freeport ( IL.) Raceway Park for the 13th running of the Rebel. Friday night, Sept. 5, features a 25-lap, $2,500-to-win main event. The Saturday night, Sept. 6, feature is 75 laps paying $7,500 to the top driver.
