Race Report: April 16th - 20th

4/22/08 -- Jason Utter and his 31 team kicked the 2008 race season off with a pair of World Dirt Race League races. First stop, Wednesday April 16th Davenport Speedway, Davenport Iowa. Utter would bring home a 3rd place finish in his heat race. The 31 C&R Pork, P & L Transportation started the main event in the 12 position. Utter was handling very well on the rough track, gaining ground on the field till the 31 touched the back wall, breaking the A frame. Utter would have to call it a night and wound up 23rd in the final rundown of the Fiesta 40.

Quad City Raceway hosted the second WDRL race of the season. The Utter Motorsports team dialed the 31 C & R Pork, P & L Transportation in on the ¼ mile track. Utter started his heat in 5th position and wheeled the 31 to pick up the win. The 31 received the most points in the QA-1 Motorsports passing point system placing him second row inside in the Iowa-Illinois Taylor Insulation pole dash. The 31 wound up 4th, awarding him the 4th starting position in the feature event. Track conditions were very rough and Utter was being very cautious on the ¼ mile track. Curt Martin spun right in front of the 31 and with no where to go Utter collected Martin. The bad luck relegated Jason to a disappointing 23rd place finish.

“I thought my crew did a great job at both races, I just ran into bad luck. We will take this car back to the shop and be ready for Freeport this coming Saturday night.” Utter stated.
