It's fair time in Iowa and Utter Motorsports tops the field

Written By: Utter Motorsports

7/25/08 -- Jason Utter entered the Muscatine County Fair in the #31 C & R Pork Farm; P & L Transportation WEGNER powered Mastersbilt July 16th. The Utter Motorsports crew groomed the car to perfection as Utter was able to drive away from the field of Late Model cars. Several yellow flags flew during the course of the race, but Jason was able to pull away from the field every time, leading all 30 laps with a very impressive lead.

The team headed to West Union, Iowa on July 22nd as the Fayette County Fair was on tap. The Indee Open Series would open the grandstand events with a packed house and lots of racing action on hand Tuesday night. Utter placed 4th in his heat; luck was on his side as he drew the number one spot for the feature event. Jason would again lead the stout field of cars from the green to checker. Brain Harris picked up the second spot followed by Gary Webb, Chris Simpson and Chad Simpson.

Racing action resumed Wednesday night at the Dubuque County Fair in Dubuque Iowa. The #31 C & R Pork Farm; P & L Transportation WEGNER powered Mastersbilt picked up a 4th place finish in the heat race. The team would make minor adjustments and start the feature event in 11th place. Jason being very patient worked the #31 thru the field of cars. Many yellow flags during the course of the night helped Utter make his way to the front. Jason wheeled his car into the second place spot but Matt Furman, the Furmenator, was running the high line and was able to edge Utter out on the white flag lap. Utter would bring home a 3rd place finish. Jeremiah Hurst picked up the win, Furman second, Utter third; the top three cars all had WEGNER power plants on board.

“It is always great to race at the fairs, because a lot of people who don’t normally go to races attend the fair races. I feel we put on an exciting show for them and hope to be back next year. The team will be back in action at the Wet Liberty Raceway this Saturday night and then will head to Wisconsin for 4 nights of racing.” Utter stated.

Next up: West Liberty Raceway, Saturday night
