Utter Motorsports 2010 Season Comes to a Close

(December 14th, 2010) -- Jason Utter and his #31 team closed out their version of the 2010 racing season by capturing a third place finish at the Liberty 100, West Liberty , Iowa. The unsanctioned showdown on October 16 was rained out September 25th.  Utter stated “the rain-out worked to our advantage” as his car was ill handling in September. The #31 Columbus Junction State Bank, P & L Transportation GenX Mastersbilt went under a major overhaul after the Liberty 100 rain out.  The crew was diligent in finding the problem with the #31.  The Columbus Junction native was fortunate to win the last chance race, giving him an 18th starting spot.  Utter knew he would have to drive the wheels off the car and he did just that.  Darrin Miller picked up the win followed by Brian Birkhofer and Utter 3rd in the stout field of cars.

“Really, this has been one of the toughest years I’ve had in quite awhile,” said Utter. “It’s a good feeling to get the car headed in the right direction.” Utter will finish the 2010 season with momentum on his side and hopes to carry this into the next season’s dirt- track battles across the Midwest.  “Picking up a 25th place finish at the Knoxville Late Model Nationals, October 2nd made us believe we could compete again.  Knoxville draws the best of the best.  The crew did an outstanding job on the car; I can’t say enough about them, I’m sure this will help the winter out, finishing on a high note.”

Utter placed 4th in the Corn Belt Clash point standings.
